Boat Launch Success (05/08)
We had our official boat launch at Kip Marina on the 19th May.
It was an amazing day! Billy Connolly was our special guest, entertaining the crowds of guests, volunteers and media present with stories from his past and enthusiasm for the charity.
The event was great fun, taking place at the pontoon around the boat with glasses of champagne in hand.
Speeches were conducted to mark the occasion, then guests were invited to The Chartroom for afternoon tea. Afew of the volunteers may have been partaking of something slightly stronger than tea later on in the evening as the event drew to a close!
Many thanks to everyone at Kip Marina and The Chartroom for all their help before and during the event. Also, a big thank you to HMS Gannett for providing us with a flyover during the day- another special moment on a wonderful day!
